Charta’s Map is a visual exploration game designed around the experience of navigating without GPS, using only a paper map and street-level views to find your way through Seoul‘s city streets.

The concept draws from the history of the word disoriented, originally meaning to lose one’s eastward bearing and explores how maps were invented to combat that feeling, yet can also deepen it. Players start at a fixed point on a hand-drawn, aged map of Seoul and must reach their destination before the timer runs out, guided only by what they can see at street level.

The visual design takes cues from vintage cartography, with sepia-toned street imagery and worn paper textures to reinforce the sense of navigating an unfamiliar city in an unfamiliar time.
