What is your identity? Can you tell me about yourself? Humor is recycled memes online, fashion is whatever is trending on Pinterest this month, music is re-used samples from the 90s. Personality is now bits and pieces of internet brain rot, molding and shifting based on what the mass public deems relevant. What do you really like? What is authenticity? Who are you?
We choose to hide our true selves, masking what’s under the surface. It’s so much more interesting to see who we truly are behind the facade. Are we afraid of what people would think if we exposed who we truly are? Or are we scared because there is nothing worth seeing underneath?
In a world where we are so obsessed with ourselves, why can’t we articulate who we are? What sets apart from others? Me, me, me, me. It’s not grotesque, it’s just who I am.
