Vinyl Cover

Repurposing a white shopping bag into a mock vinyl-size sleeve and using oil paint to create an album cover.

A portrait of G-Dragon wearing a crown that is slipping to the side of his head. The gold from the crown melts into one half of his face - representing how fame and success can blur the individual behind it. At the same time, the spotlight can become suffocating yet, it is unescapable.

GD’s POV

A wide perspective shot of how the world views GD’s life, as his artistry has become a representation of Korean pop culture (therefore his world is illustrated as Seoul, South Korea - it's busy streets, flashy lights, and stage).

Bringing the stage to life

GD has become an icon of Korean pop culture, pioneering a unique perspective in music, fashion and art. The stage is his home and everything he touches comes to life, creating things that others cannot replicate.

From throne to flower

A throne is fitting for someone wearing a crown. As GD sits on his throne at the end of the stage, it transforms into a daisy. The throne represents the pinnacle of success and fame, the epitome of his being as a musician.

However, the moment he sits down, the throne turns into a daisy floating in the air. Representing peace and serenity. This daisy represents the simplicity behind human nature. Behind the stardom and spotlight, is a person.

The daisy is also GD’s infamous logo for his brand peaceminusone, and lightstick. Missing a single petal, demonstrating that there is a flaw in everyone, no one is 100% perfect. The animation shows GD lying on the daisy, finally smiling.

Album Cover Design

Using a warm palette consisting of a strong red, yellow and brown for the cover, and classic monochrome black and white for the inner contents to represent GD’s signature bold look throughout the album. Simple yet symbolic in the singer’s identity that he has coined over the years. Reworked scenes from the concept animation for the CD illustration and lyric book pages.
